TROCHUS SHELLS / TOP SHELLS

When top shells were first discovered, conchologists compared these shells to the original top toy and gave them this name. When polished, this mother-of-pearl color is visible.

The Strawberry Top shell is very pretty and is colored white with dashes of bright strawberry red.

This shell is found in intertidal reefs.
