Tonna galea Linnaeus
The Giant Tun is light in weight and thin. The body whorl has several spiral ribs, and the spire is very short. Its color is generally a caramel brown, but it may be lighter or darker.
This shell is found around the world in deep waters.
TONNA SULCOSA - BANDED TUN SHELL
Tonna sulcosa Born
Although the Banded Tun shell is thin yet hardy. Approximately seven whorls are found on this shell. Its color is a milk white with three to four espresso-brown coils on the body whorl. The tip o fthe shell is purple.
This shell is found offshore in the Pacific Ocean.
Tonna tesselata
The Tonna tesselata is a fragile shell with a short spire. It is creamy white with light brown spots on the ribs. The aperture is hot cocoa brown and gradually turns white.
