Cypraea tigris Linnaeus
Tiger cowries are inflated and heavy. The shell has a white foundation, a blue-gray layer above it and a red-brown layer on the very top. The two uppermost layers create the beautiful spotted pattern on this shell. The yellow-orange mantle line contrasts with the rest of the shell's colors. The teeth on the outer lip of these cowries are large yet short, but those opposite are slender and lengthy in comparison.
Tiger cowries live under coral blocks.
